When winter conditions cooperate, Lakewood and northern Oconto County offer a wide network of snowmobile trails through forests, open country and nearby communities. The area’s club-maintained system gives riders a way to experience the Northwoods during a completely different season.

Openings depend on snow, temperature, grooming and local decisions. Trail conditions can change quickly, so this page should help guests plan their trip without pretending that any route or condition is guaranteed.

Oconto County’s snowmobile trails are maintained by local clubs and reported through the county’s official trail system. Check the live report before leaving home and again on the day you ride. A trail shown on a previous-season map may be closed, rerouted or operating under different conditions.

Follow all posted signs, stay on marked trails and respect private land. Trail access depends on the cooperation of landowners and the work of local clubs, so responsible riding helps keep the system available.

Heaven’s Up North is positioned near the Lakewood-area trail system, but winter campground and accommodation availability must be confirmed before booking. Call the campground with your dates, group size and trailer needs so the staff can explain what is available for your trip.

Campground roads maintain a strict 5 MPH speed limit. Riders should also review the campground’s current rules and any special snowmobile cancellation language before reserving.
