Fishing & Kayaking
Overview
Lakes, rivers and quiet stretches of water are part of what make the Lakewood area such an easy place to spend time outside. Whether you want to fish from shore, launch a boat or paddle for a few hours, Heaven’s Up North puts you within reach of several Northwoods options.
The campground is not presented as a waterfront property. Guests should plan to travel to the lake, river, landing or park that best fits their day.
Nearby water
The forests and parks surrounding Lakewood include lakes, rivers and public recreation areas used for fishing, paddling and wildlife watching. Peshtigo River State Forest and Governor Thompson State Park are two nearby areas worth researching when planning a day on the water.
Water levels, launch access, fishing regulations and park conditions can change, so check the appropriate park or Wisconsin DNR resources before leaving the campground.
Kayak rentals
Kayak rentals are available through Heaven’s Up North. Ask the campground about current availability, rental details and transportation before making plans around a rental.
Plan your day
Bring the equipment, life jackets, licenses and supplies required for your activity. Check the weather before launching, let someone know where you are going and follow all current Wisconsin boating and fishing regulations.
Afterward, return to the campground for a swim, a meal around the fire or an easy evening at your site.
