ATV & UTV Trails
Overview
Bring your ATV or UTV and use Heaven’s Up North as your base for exploring the Lakewood area and Oconto County trail system. The county promotes more than 500 miles of interconnected trails and routes, giving riders plenty of room to plan anything from an afternoon loop to a full riding weekend.
The scenery changes as you ride, with wooded trails, rural roads and connections between Northwoods communities. Because trail locations, openings and conditions can change during the season, every ride should begin with the latest county map and trail report.
From the campground
Heaven’s Up North provides access from the campground to the designated ATV route. ATVs may use campground roads when traveling between a campsite and the access road, while UTVs may also be used as golf carts inside the park.
All machines must follow the campground’s strict 5 MPH speed limit. Guests may park an ATV or UTV at their campsite when it fits safely within the reserved site. Limited additional trailer parking may be available, so call before arriving if your setup requires extra space.
Riding around Lakewood
Lakewood is one of several Oconto County communities connected by the regional trail system. The official Lakewood trailhead is located near Highway F and Highway 32, and the surrounding network gives riders access to hundreds of miles of marked routes.
Stay on marked trails, respect private property and follow all posted signs and local ordinances. County maps may be revised when trail locations or conditions change, so a saved screenshot or an old printed map should never replace current information.
Before you ride
Check the official trail report on the day you ride. Conditions can change after rain, flooding, maintenance or seasonal closures, and neighboring counties may follow different opening dates.
Confirm that your machine, registration and equipment meet current Wisconsin requirements. Heaven’s Up North does not control county trails, grooming, openings or closures.
Back at the campground
After a day of riding, return to your site, clean up in the campground bathhouse and settle in around the fire ring. The camp store, showers, laundry and other campground amenities make it easier to stay for more than one day of exploring.
